  • Your Redmi K20 Pro should have an unlocked bootloader.
  • A Windows or Mac PC with ADB Fastboot installed.
  • Your Redmi K20 should have at least 60% charge left.
  • A backup is always recommended.
  • An active Internet connection.

How to install TWRP Recovery on Redmi K20 

Here are the steps which you need to follow in order to install TWRP Recovery on your Android Device:

  • First of all, you need to download the TWRP Recovery for Redmi K20 from here (thanks to the XDA Senior Member mauronofrio). Once downloaded, move the file to the desktop.
  • Now, you need to enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlock on your Redmi K20. In order to do this, go to your Settings -> About phone. Now tap on the MIUI version 7 times until you see a toast message saying Developer option enabled. Go back to the Settings -> AdditionalSettings -> Developer Options and enable OEM Unlock and USB Debugging here.
  • Connect your Redmi K20 or the K20 Pro to your PC with the USB Cable.
  • On your PC, go to the platform-tools folder and enter cmd in the address bar to open a Command Prompt Window. Here, you need to type in the following and hit the Enter key on your keyboard.

  • Now, you need to type in the following and hit the Enter key on your keyboard.

fastboot flash recovery /path/to/twrp-3.3.1-1-raphael.img

Make sure that you replace the /path/to with the path of your twrp recovery image. It would be probably like C://Windows/users/desktop.

  • Once done, type in the following and hit the Enter key on your keyboard to reboot your Android Device.

  • Once done, tap on the Reboot System button to restart your Android Device.
  • That’s it! You have successfully installed the Magisk and have rooted your Redmi K20 or the K20 Pro.
